Is GunZ: The Duel free to play?
Yes. The 2026 Steam remaster is free to play with in-app purchases (cosmetics and convenience items). You can install it directly from the Steam store page — there is no purchase price.
When did GunZ: The Duel come out?
The original GunZ launched in 2003 in Korea (developed by MAIET Entertainment) and ran international service for years through publishers like ijji. The Steam remaster by Masangsoft officially launched on August 13, 2026 (17:00 PDT — August 14 at 00:00 UTC).
Should I play GunZ: The Duel or GunZ 2: The Second Duel?
They are different games. GunZ 2 (2013) simplified movement and never kept the original's competitive scene. The 2026 remaster revives the original GunZ: The Duel — including the K-Style movement system the series is famous for. If you searched for butterfly steps and slash shots, this remaster is the one you want.
Can I play GunZ: The Duel on Mac?

Does GunZ: The Duel support controllers?
The Steam page lists no native controller category, and K-Style techniques rely on rapid keyboard-and-mouse inputs (dash, jump, slash cancels). Keyboard and mouse is the practical way to play.
Are there GunZ: The Duel redeem codes?
No redeem-code system is live in the Steam remaster. Launch freebies come through in-game events, mailbox rewards and Twitch Drops instead - see the launch event calendar at the top of this page for the official end dates.
What does "Let's rock!" mean in GunZ?
It is the iconic round-start voice line from the original game — one of the most remembered bits of GunZ audio. Community trailers and montages have used it as shorthand for the game for two decades.
Are private servers like FGunZ or Freestyle GunZ still a thing?
Private servers kept GunZ alive for over a decade after official international service ended, and some still operate. With the official Steam remaster now live, the official servers are where the population and future updates are — see our private servers page for the history and current state.
Which regions have servers?
Official notices name North America (Virginia, expanded after launch congestion; plus NA-West match servers) and Europe. No other region has been announced. Check the server status page for current conditions.
Is there a GunZ: The Duel wiki?

- No. The Steam remaster has no code-redemption system and none of the official launch events use codes. Everything free is in the calendar above: mailbox rewards and attendance stamps through Oct 6, Twitch Drops through Sep 8. Any "working codes" list for this game is filler.
- Can I play GunZ: The Duel on Mac or Linux?
- Steam lists Windows 10/11 only (DirectX 9.0c, 4 GB storage). No macOS or Linux build exists, and Masangsoft has not announced one. Compatibility layers are outside what the developer supports.
